I was born James Lee Miller. When I was seven years old, I was adopted, and my name was changed to James Lee Lewis. My adopted mom nicknamed me “Jerry” because she loved Jerry Lee Lewis, the rock 'n' roll legend. No one knew my name was James outside of my family.
When I started applying for college, they did not allow me to use Jerry, so I went to court and had it changed. Now I am legally Jerry Lee Lewis, writing under my birth name, James Lee Miller.
As an author who delves into the complexities of life, adoption, navigating the world as a tall person, and everyday experiences, my life’s journeys have taken me across the globe and throughout the United States. After college, I joined the Air Force to serve my country and explore the world. Following an honorable discharge, I transitioned to a career in the software industry.
Now residing in Texas, I share my stories to connect with fellow adoptees, survivors of childhood abuse, individuals battling PTSD, and tall people everywhere.
My stories offer a beacon of hope, healing, laughter, and touching the hearts of readers who have faced life's toughest challenges and it's greatest journeys.
